Go Month 2010

Local Professional Organizers Donating Services to Dress for Success

For the second year in a row, Dress for Success Cleveland will be the recipient of services donated by NAPO North Coast Ohio in honor of GO Month. GO (Get Organized) Month is sponsored each January by the National Association of Professional Organizers. During a time when many make a New Year's Resolution to become more organized, events such as this, which are conducted by local Chapters and NAPO members, highlight the benefits of organization.

Two lucky Dress for Success Cleveland Professional Women's Group members will receive an organizing session by a team of three Professional Organizers. To be eligible for consideration, Dress for Success Cleveland members will submit an essay and photographs of an area of concern. The essay will focus on what area of their home they would like organized, how the area affects their daily functioning and what impact getting it organized will have on their overall ability to achieve their goals. Winners will be chosen by a committee made up of Dress for Success Cleveland staff, as well as members of the local chapter.

All members will view a recap of the sessions with before and after photos, tips and discussion of the organizing process at a meeting later in the month. At that time there will also be a presentation on time management techniques for the membership by other members of NAPO.

Melony Butler, Manager of Employee Retention Services at the local Dress for Success affiliate is thrilled that the Professional Organizers are returning this year. "We learned so much last year with their Panel of Experts, and know that the hands-on-organizing techniques, coupled with time management tips, will shed further light on how our members can be successful both at work and at home."

Patty Clair, President and co-chair of the month of activities states "This annual activity by our Chapter is designed to educate others on the benefits of organization. These benefits include more time, more money and less stress." Co-chair and NAPO North Coast Ohio Associate Member, Traci McBride adds "I'm pleased as can be to have played a tiny part in connecting two excellent and honorable organizations!"

NAPO North Coast Ohio members who are participating in this activity are: Traci McBride, Patty Clair, Jamie Escola, Muffy Kaesberg, Kathy Pietrick, Joanna Quandt, JoEllen Salkin, Andrea Sharb, Mimi Testen and Saundra Wright.
